Ramsey's lawsuit was filed Wednesday in 3rd Circuit Court in Wayne County, Michigan, by Atlanta attorney Lin Wood on Ramsey's behalf.

The gripping six-part series had us proper shook as it detailed the facts, mysteries and theories of the unsolved 1996 murder of 6-year-old pageant star JonBenét Ramsey.

Generally speaking, the suit claims that the show, produced for CBS by independent studio Critical Content, blames then 9-year-old Burke Ramsey for killing his sister in the basement of their Boulder, Colo. home.

So far, CBS has declined to comment.

MNF: Cowboys vs Lions Game Thread
It looks like not many experts believe the Lions will get the win tonight, however, that is exactly the way Detroit likes it. During his 5,000-yard season of 2011, Stafford beat the Cowboys in his first game back in his hometown as a pro.

"If you really, really use your free time to think about this case, you can not come to a different conclusion", Spitz said in the special, indicating that it was indeed Burke who murdered JonBenet.

He filed the lawsuit in a MI court two days after the 20 anniversary of his sister death.

But the district attorney now overseeing the case has said it was premature to exonerate the Ramseys and ordered additional tests using new DNA testing technology that authorities hope will further the investigation.

The suit also names as defendants seven individuals who were featured in the documentary series as criminal experts or students of the case: Jim Clemente, Laura Richards, Henry Lee, A. James Kolar, James Fitzgerald, Stanley Burke and Werner Spitz.

One figure said the video was from the Haqqani network, described by Reuters as a "close affiliate of the Afghan Taliban". The Canadian government has called for unconditional release of the captives.

The lawsuit claims that while promoting the docuseries that aired in the fall, the experts concluded they may have solved who murdered JonBenet. The lawsuit requests compensatory damages in the amount of $250 million, and punitive damages in the amount of $500 million.

Burke Ramsey was nine at the time.

Early on the morning of December 26, 1996, JonBenet's mother, Patsy Ramsey, called police and reported that her daughter was missing and that she had found a ransom note demanding $118,000 in cash.

A prosecutor cleared her parents and brother in 2008 based on DNA evidence.
