Hugo Lloris cost Spurs points with two horrendous mistakes

Spurs came from two behind to equalise with goals from Dele Alli and then substitute Heung-min Son but Guardiola was frustrated that his side did not get a penalty with the score at 2-1.

The result ended Tottenham's run of six consecutive wins and may prove costly in their attempts to make up ground on leaders Chelsea.

Tottenham are already without Jan Vertonghen after the defender picked up an ankle injury in their last league game and will be out for the next two months.

Pep Guardiola named a very bold starting line-up, including dropping John Stones, and his gamble appeared to have paid off as the hosts were rampant in the first half yet it was somehow goalless at the break. They created most of City's chances and could play the ball outside to the fullbacks or up the middle to Sergio Agüero.

City were cruising, 2-0 up after 58 minutes.

Tommy Fleetwood beats Dustin Johnson to HSBC Championship by a shot
But Fleetwood came into the tournament in decent form with 10 top-20 finishes in 12 events stretching back to September. Open champion Dustin Johnson, who hit an eagle on the last, and 2014 Abu Dhabi victor , Pablo Larrazabal of Spain.

Lloris made a fine save to deny Silva, showing his strong wrists, and De Bruyne set up Zabaleta, who once again failed to direct his shot on target. The shot went directly to Lloris' arms, but City were livid that referee Andre Marriner didn't call a clear penalty.

City remained fifth and will be ruing the collapse after completely overwhelming the visitors with a high-tempo first-half performance. They have a lot of quality in midfield players, attacking midfielders, wingers, the strikers - they are an outstanding team.

The France global first headed an attempted clearance at Leroy Sane, who sent the ball home 4 minutes after the restart.

If fortune deserted Lloris on that occasion, he only had himself to blame five minutes later as his failure to gather Sterling's cross from the right allowed De Bruyne to bundle in City's second.

It was one they took advantage of, but only in highly controversial circumstances. It's also worth mentioning the fact that keeping clean sheets against Premier League squads proved to be more hard than expected.

'Miracle' as 10 pulled alive from avalanche horror
The first rescuers on the scene arrived on skis early on Thursday morning, while firefighters were dropped in by helicopter. Workers have been clearing a 9km road to bring in heavier equipment but it can only handle one-way traffic.

Danny Rose had to produce a brilliant last-gasp tackle to prevent Sterling restoring City's two-goal cushion before Alderweireld limped off holding the back of his right thigh.

Instead Spurs were able to go up the other end and equalise.

The tactician also warned against expecting too much from new arrival Gabriel Jesus after he made an eye-catching debut coming off the bench against Spurs.

In addition to his backpost strike, which would have rendered him an instant hero had it not been (rightly) ruled out for offside, the Brazilian also delivered a fine cross and nearly headed into the top corner.
