One photo twists the knife on Trump's anti-abortion executive order

The pro-life measure comes a day after the anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade and days before the annual March for Life in Washington.

Democratic President Bill Clinton removed it, then Republican President George W. Bush reinstated it before President Barack Obama removed it nearly immediately after his own inauguration. The policy, known as the "Mexico City" abortion rule despite having nothing to do with Mexico City, was first signed into law by President Ronald Reagan in 1985.

This includes USAID, which under the policy will be unable to provide funds to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that provide referrals or counseling for abortion services, or advocate for the same. Though the Helms Amendment already prohibits the use of USA foreign assistance funds "for the performance of abortion as a method of family planning", the global gag rule goes further by banning NGOs from providing abortion care, counseling, or engaging in advocacy for abortion.

"This is Trump's global gag rule, and we do expect it to cost women their lives".

Star Wars: Episode VIII officially titled The Last Jedi
The name was confirmed on Twitter with a simple poster displaying the title, alongside the Star Wars logo in a red font. While in production on the film a year ago , Johnson used the hilarious working title "Space Bear" for the film.

The global assistance funding provides access to contraceptive services and supplies for 27 million women and couples. First brought into action by Ronald Reagan in 1984, it puts a ban on providing federal money to worldwide groups that provide abortion services - whether it's information or the termination itself.

Though Trump has had controversial clashes with Mexico over his border wall policy, this executive action actually has nothing to do with Mexico, despite its name.

To be clear, the gag rule goes much further than preventing USA taxpayer dollars from directly paying for abortions, which is already illegal under the 1973 Helms amendment. But those governments "won't be as likely to want to pool funds with us" for global aid if the Trump administration implements such negative and harmful policies, Rucks said.

The move will revive the Reagan administration's anti-choice restriction, which, according to the Guttmacher Institute, has "led to the closing of some of the developing world's most effective family planning programs" when enforced.

UKIP leader Paul Nuttall to contest Stoke-on-Trent Central by-election
Within Ukip, the byelection presents a test of electoral support for a 40-year-old seeking to escape the shadow of Nigel Farage. However, 69% of people in Stoke-on-Trent voted to leave the European Union in the referendum in June.

Even during the Obama years, United States law banned direct funding for abortion services.

She told Foreign Policy: "I will continue to stand up to President Trump and Republican leadership in Congress who are intent on rolling back women's access to reproductive healthcare, and will soon be introducing bipartisan legislation aimed to repeal the Global Gag Rule for good". Reinstating the global gag rule will not reduce abortions.

The World Health Organization reports that unsafe abortion kills 47,000 women every year; these deaths comprise 13 percent of maternal deaths globally. The US has been the largest bilateral funder of reproductive health and family planning services across the world, and the new executive order will hit the poorest women, in the poorest countries, the hardest. "To be clear, this policy is an attack on women's bodily autonomy and freedom, and we will see an increase in unintended pregnancies and unsafe abortions as a result".
