Will X-Men Writer Simon Kinberg Be Making His Directorial Debut?

April AlvarezFeb 25, 2017

The rumored "X-Men: Supernova" is just one of several movies lined up for development and future release in the X-Men Cinematic Universe.

When the most recent Fantastic Four movie hit theaters, to say it was a disappointment is an understatement.

As far as fans can tell, David Leitch is now working on a Deadpool sequel, John Boone is busy with New Mutants, and Bryan Singer is killing time until September, when work will begin on a sequel to Apocalypse, which is rumored to be titled Supernova.

Nonetheless, while this universe may have enough pieces to endure bad core X-Men films right now, it is best not to test that theory further.

Do cats cause schizophrenia?
Most notably, it didn't include blood tests of the participants to see if they had been directly exposed to T. gondii . And thankfully, cat lovers now have even more ammunition in the argument for why cats are better than dogs.

A new X-Men movie poses an interesting challenge for the studio: Actors Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Nicholas Hoult wrapped up their three-pic deals with last year's entry, so new deals will be necessary if anyone is plotting a return.

The studios is sticking with the X-Men franchise though.

The producers of the next "X-Men" movie are banking on the familiarity Simon Kinberg has with the "X-Men" franchise. Fox clearly isn't a studio that's overflowing with patience for directors who make mistakes.

Kinberg tells ComicBook.com, "It's in active development".

"I think the truth is we would not make another Fantastic Four movie until it was ready to be made".

From screenwriting to directing, it looks like Simon Kinberg is set to go for his directorial debut.

Explaining what's been going on with "Gambit, ' Kinberg says, "The process has been that Channing [Tatum] is as determined about getting the character right as Ryan Reynolds was about Deadpool and Hugh [Jackman] was about this 'Logan" movie".

The concept has already been dabbled in X-Men: The Last Stand with Famke Janssen playing Jean Grey and also touched in Apocalypse as Sophie Turner's Jean Grey taps into her potential power to win the ultimate battle.

He had the combined time of 2:19.37 after two runs, while Yohei Koyama of Japan got the gold with 2:17.51. Seo Yi-ra won the men's 1,000m title, with fellow South Korea taking silver.
