Chiefs release longtime running back Jamaal Charles

The sides have agreed to a six-year, $78 million contract ($40 million of it guaranteed) that will make Berry the NFL's richest safety, a person with knowledge of the situation tells USA TODAY Sports' Tom Pelissero. In the case of the Eric Berry deal, those exceptions and cost-cutting measures appear to be releasing running back Jamaal Charles and allowing defensive tackle Dontari Poe to test the open market in free agency.

And with that, the top players at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' top two positions come off the market.

"At just 5'11", 199 pounds, Jamaal Charles is the modern-day Joe Delaney.

Jordan Peele's 'Get Out' Scores Monster $30.5 Million Opening
Its cumulative USA take now stands at $133 million (after current estimates), with another $72.1 million in foreign ticket sales. Night Shyamalan has also returned to his glory days of box office success with his hit film, Split .

The terms of Berry's deal will probably have the biggest impact on the Chiefs moving forward.

The Chiefs are releasing the two-time All-Pro running back, who has played just eight games over the past two seasons; he played just three games last season before ultimately being placed on injured reserve due to knee troubles.

This contract means Berry will nearly certainly play most of his career with the Chiefs, meaning the team is attaching itself to a potential NFL Man of the Year and Pro Football Hall of Famer. Eric Berry wanted a long-term deal somewhere. He has said he does want to continue playing. The problem is the 30-year-old rusher hasn't been healthy in a long time. Charles was the Chiefs' starting running back while now-Eagles head coach Doug Pederson served as Kansas City's offensive coordinator. He missed the final four regular-season games and a playoff matchup against Green Bay with a sports hernia.

The Mainstream Media's War on Trump
Another 45 percent said they disagreed with the statement, that journalists feared the Republican businessman in the White House. While only 30 percent of those polled overall say that Trump is off to a "great start", 63 percent of Republicans agree.

So it is of no surprise that the team announced on their website that they cut Charles Tuesday.

"I've been privileged to work with a lot of talented players over the years, and Jamaal Charles ranks up there with the great ones".

"No, I haven't", said Berry, who played the 2016 season under the $10.8 million franchise tender.

Kings see Ben Bishop as important piece in playoff race
Quick made 32 saves in a 4-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks but getting Bishop is an insurance move in case Quick can't stay healthy. Though Bishop makes Los Angeles deeper in goal, there are some questions on whether he was really what they needed most.
