Chance acknowledged Rauner had taken his personal number but said the governor gave him "vague answers" on the funding issue. The governor said that while it's obvious Chance is "very focused on getting quickly more money for CPS right now, and I share his passion", he would need a little more time to work out funding shortfalls with the artist.

Chance said that it went differently from how "it should have". So we'll see what happens. The lil' Grammy Award victor from the 79th centered his conversation around the $215 million that had been earmarked for the Chicago Public Schools.

"Unless the Governor restores his $215 million cut, we face even more painful choices before the year is done", a CPS statement said at the time of the lawsuit's filing last week. "He asked me where the $215 million was going to come from". Like, seriously, all the publications you work for and the worldwide, national publications out there-Complex, Billboard-people that post about me walking down the street and shit. "We talked, for a second it sounded like there might be something happening next week". Rauner later confessed that his move was a reaction to a statement from Senate president John Cullerton about proposed pension reform.

Chance responded on Twitter asking if the two could meet.
