Bournemouth to contest Tyrone Mings violent conduct charge

Alyssa BaileyMar 09, 2017

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has accepted a charge from the FA after an incident with Tyrone Mings in a game against AFC Bournemouth.

The weekend's most interesting game, mainly for the wrong reasons, was Manchester United's draw with Bournemouth.

Ibrahimovic, meanwhile, will miss out on Man United's FA Cup quarter-final clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge next Monday evening, while also sitting out the side's Premier League encounters with Middlesbrough and West Bromwich Albion. With the race for the Champions League spots heating up, United can not afford to drop points and his big presence in the box will be sorely missed by the English giants as he is their top-scorer in all competions by a considerable margin.

In hot water: Tyrone Mings and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The FA has handed out its punishment to Tyrone Mings in relation to the head-stamping incident last Saturday.

But the Californian club could "buy down the budget charge of one of the three using targeted allocation money" which would then allow them to offer Ibrahimovic a designated player spot.

Floyd Mayweather gives update on potential Conor McGregor fight
People know because it was good for business and it was a money fight, this is why we get this fight. "I do not think about him". McGregor will meet Nate Diaz in a welterweight rematch on August 20, 2016, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

As a result, the incident was referred to a panel of three former elite referees, who unanimously concluded that both offences merited red cards.

Both players protested their innocence, with Mings insisting he accidentally trod on Ibrahimovic as he attempted to jump over two United players lying on the ground.

Ibrahimovic is United's top goal-scorer this season with 15 goals in 25 Premier League games and 26 goals in 35 appearances in all competitions. Even though the match official failed to take action during the course of the game, the FA will be keen to hand out justice.
