Man with axe 'injures several in Dusseldorf train station rampage'

A reporter for German newspaper Der Speigel at the scene said he had seen two injured people, and the situation was returning to calm.

Two people have been arrested after an "ax rampage" at a major train station left at least four people injured.

Trains are not stopping at the station.

An amateur video apparently shot from the scene showed a shell-shocked eye-witness walking around blood stained floors as police tended to a wounded person on the ground.

The local Rheinsche Post website reported a "large-scale operation" on behalf of police.
